Restoring Hope for Our Heroes
The Haven for Heroes program provides specialized care for people like veterans, military members, police officers, firefighters, and all other first responders. We help these individuals overcome their mental health issues and prevent dangers such as self-harm or suicide. Our goal is to restore hope in first responders and give them the necessary resources for coping with their trauma so they can return to service confidently.
We have helped hundreds of first responders overcome their alcohol or drug addiction, manage their mental health disorders, and return to duty.
What is the Haven for Heroes Program?
The Haven for Heroes program offered by The Haven Detox provides personalized care for veterans and first responders with mental health and substance use disorders. We designed this targeted program to meet the unique challenges of stress, trauma, and addiction faced by our nation’s most heroic and sometimes vulnerable.
Through the combination of medical, behavioral, and mental health science—conditions like anxiety, depression, personality disorders, chemical dependency, and substance use disorder can be effectively treated. Our mental health care assists military veterans and first responders in understanding their condition’s origins and learning healthier coping skills.

Personalized Treatment Options
Not all patients experience mental health disorders and addictions the same way. Having tailored treatment options is crucial to a successful recovery.
Our trained therapists conduct cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy sessions. These therapies aim to equip veterans and first responders with the tools needed to cope with withdrawal and cravings in a healthy manner.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment is a talk therapy designed for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These sessions can help patients with PTSD process negative memories, emotions, and thoughts related to their trauma. EMDR therapy can significantly minimize triggers for veterans and first responders who have PTSD.
The Haven aims to provide a safe and comfortable recovery for all its patients. Our expert medical team combines traditional, integrative, and holistic medical treatment for all individuals to alleviate the process and prevent complications.
Stages in recovery, such as detox, can be an uncomfortable process due to withdrawal symptoms and urges. Through medication management at The Haven, patients can alleviate pain, concentrate, and ease depression and anxiety.
Continued care and support after treatment is completed are essential for a smooth recovery. Our facility offers aftercare programs that help patients connect with others in a similar situation. Peer groups are a great way to find support from those with the same goal.
Therapy can play a significant role in preventing patients from relapsing after rehabilitation. Through these sessions, individuals learn how to manage their triggers and replace negative thoughts and behaviors with more positive ones.
Safer Access to Substance Abuse Treatment
The Haven offers training that goes over how to navigate insurance policies, HIPPA, and FMLA to aid first responders and employees receive treatment without the risk of losing their jobs. Our instructors can guide and direct peer support, HR, Union Personnel, and Administration on how to get a hero into our treatment program confidentially.
Custom Veteran Treatment with Added Amenities
A safe and comfortable environment is essential for a successful recovery. The Haven facilities offer veteran-focused communities with fellow on-staff veterans. During a residential stay at The Haven, patients have access to massage therapy and yoga, complete coordinated healthcare, haircuts, and chiropractic care.
After receiving treatment, veterans and first responders will be offered 12-step referrals, job search, and vocational assistance to ease the transition.
Veteran Alumni Group
After completion of treatment, alumni have access to additional resources and connections that prevent relapse. Participants can stay in contact, build support groups and offer each other advice
Through supportive housing, also known as connected housing, veterans and first responders can find a community to celebrate their recovery through recreation, support, and job assistance.
A sober escort can provide patients comfort, assurance, and company during their treatment on a car, bus or plane. Through this additional amenity, veterans and first responders can be picked up and dropped off wherever needed.
Dispatchers, Firefighters, & Paramedics
It is common for first responders to find themselves dealing with a substance addiction after experiencing traumatic, life-threatening events. Our facility provides quality treatment for stress and trauma while teaching them to overcome personal triggers and live without using substances.
Veterans & Active Military
Our program accepts active-duty military personnel through an in-network agreement with Tricare. Our comprehensive health care and high-quality mental health care can help military service members return to duty quickly.
Law Enforcement & Correctional Officers
Our Haven for Heroes program is dedicated to providing support for people who have sworn to protect our community. We recognize and address the abuse, violence, trauma, and disaster those in law enforcement can face.
