Detox

Whether you are addicted to alcohol, heroin, or even prescription medications, a medical detox is usually the best way to begin addiction treatment. A medically supervised detoxification is an inpatient program that helps people through the withdrawal process. We utilize a number of different therapies and treatments in the detox level of care to prepare people for recovery.

Our team of expert staff work with the individual to assess their specific needs and treat them accordingly. We utilize medications to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms and ensure the most comfortable and safe detox process available.

Detoxing at Home

Many people think that overcoming addiction just takes willpower and effort. However, withdrawal symptoms are extremely uncomfortable and in many cases dangerous.

Withdrawal symptoms vary from person to person and are dependent on a number of factors. The major factors that affect severity are how long someone has been using and what drug, as well as age, weight and metabolism. Medical conditions can also exacerbate withdrawal symptoms and complications.

Detoxing at home puts people at risk from a laundry list of potential health risks and complications including suicidal ideations, depresion, seizures, and more. Most people who try to detox at home are unsuccessful. This is because they are met with severe and compulsive cravings combined with severe withdrawals.

However, while in a medical detox, these symptoms and cravings can be effectively treated and overcome thanks to medication and therapies.

What to Expect

At the Haven Detox, we provide a modern and amenity filled facility that offers comfortable and effective treatment for substance abuse. When someone arrives at our facility, our staff and doctors perform an intake assessment that helps them create an individualized treatment plan. This plan includes medications, therapies, and other effective treatments.

Our facility features queen size beds, TV’s and more. We try to ensure that every patient is comfortable while in our detox. We also provide three in house cooked meals by our professional chefs.

Rest assured that all of your needs will be met while in our care.

Our Staff and Expertise

Most people experience withdrawal symptoms in the first few days of overcoming an addiction. To alleviate these, we perform frequent medical check-ins and medical observation in conjunction with medication and therapy. Our doctors and nurses are able to provide specific doses and prescriptions that can help alleviate most withdrawal symptoms.

The Haven Detox facility is Joint Commission accredited and staffed by experts in the field. Our doctors and nurses have decades of combined experience and understand that everyone’s treatment can be different and have specific needs. We are here to ensure that our patients have a successful detox and recovery.

What to Expect During Detox

While we do our best to ensure that withdrawal symptoms are managed as effectively as medically possible, some people do experience symptoms of withdrawal. This is usually dependent on what drug someone is using and for how long. Our goal is to alleviate these symptoms and allow for the easiest detox process possible.

At the Haven Detox, we want every one of our patients to have a safe transition into a life of recovery and success.

The most common withdrawal symptoms people experience include:

  • Cravings
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Irritability and mood swings
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea or diarrhea

There are many other symptoms of withdrawal that some people experience, but thankfully we are able to monitor and treat symptoms as they arise. The worst symptoms usually present themselves between 1 and 3 days of stopping use.

Some people also experience post-acute withdrawals. These are more mild symptoms that persist beyond the detox and withdrawal period. This is one of the many reasons we recommend a full continuum of care and long-term treatment plan wherever possible.

The Haven Detox is a 24-hour facility focused on treating addiction and helping people achieve long term recovery. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction or alcoholism, we are here to help. Call us today for more information at (561) 328-8627
