Ongoing Support

Alumni Program: Lifelong Support After Treatment

Recovery is full of twists and turns, especially in the first year. That’s why support after treatment matters. Our alumni coordinators link you to support groups, therapists, or simply someone to talk to when life gets overwhelming. You don’t need to wait until something goes wrong, and you don’t need to have everything figured out. If you started your care at The Haven Detox, you get support for life.

What Is The Haven Detox Alumni Program?

The alumni program gives you a way to stay connected to support long after your treatment ends. It’s a flexible, lifelong resource for people who’ve spent any time at The Haven Detox. There’s no cost, no pressure, and no expiration date. When life gets hard or healing feels uncertain, you’ll have somewhere to turn — and someone who understands.

Long-term accountability

Recovery is easier when you know someone will check in, notice if you drift, and remind you of the progress you’ve already made.

Connection that fights isolation

One of the hardest parts after treatment is feeling like you’re on your own. Our Alumni Program makes sure you stay connected to people who understand, so you don’t slip back into old habits or loneliness.

Guidance as life changes

Life doesn’t stop after treatment — new stress, relationships, and responsibilities come up. The Alumni Program gives you a trusted place for support, perspective, and encouragement as you adapt.

How the Alumni Program Supports Ongoing Recovery

Personalized Check-Ins

Alumni team members check in regularly — offering a friendly voice, encouragement, and a chance to talk things through. Whether it’s once a week or once in a while, you always have someone to reach out to who understands what it takes to stay well.

Weekly Meetings

Our virtual alumni meetings happen every week and are open to anyone who received care at The Haven Detox. These gatherings offer a welcoming space to check in, hear from others, and share when you’re ready. You can log on from anywhere and join as often as it helps.

Local Referrals

The alumni team can connect you to local resources like support groups, a therapist, a psychiatrist, sober living housing, or whatever else you may need. If you need a local referral, your Alumni Coach has been in recovery both personally and professionally for years and likely has a resource to help.

In-Person Events

Recovery should be fun! The alumni program hosts in-person events like seasonal outings, family-friendly gatherings, and community dinners — spaces where you can relax, reconnect, and celebrate progress.

Ongoing Support

Healing isn’t linear. Some weeks you’ll want connection, others you’ll want space. The alumni program is built with that in mind. There’s no pressure to participate and no guilt if you’ve been away. Whether you check in next week or next year, you’re still part of the community.

Conditions the Alumni Program Supports

Whether you came to treatment for addiction, mental health, or both, you’re part of the alumni community. The alumni program supports the good days, the setbacks, and everything in between.

Substance Use Disorder

Staying sober is an ongoing process that requires connection and accountability. The Alumni Program helps by keeping you plugged into a supportive community, offering regular check-ins, and providing referrals to resources like sober housing, support groups, or additional treatment if needed. The goal is to make sure you never have to face cravings, relapse, or life stressors alone.

Mental Health

Managing mental health goes beyond therapy or medication — it’s about consistent support when life feels overwhelming. The Alumni Program gives you a place to connect with others who understand, share what you’re going through, and access groups or referrals that fit your needs. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, or everyday stress, the alumni team makes sure you have tools, encouragement, and real people to lean on.

Proving Recovery Can Be Fun

Recovery is about building a life you actually enjoy. The alumni program creates opportunities to laugh, relax, and connect. These moments remind you that recovery isn’t punishment; it’s the freedom to live fully, celebrate milestones, and have fun with people who support your growth.

My son has been struggling with addiction for a long time, drugs and alcohol. Fortunately now he recognizes he can not do it alone. The alumni are very caring and responsive. I highly recommend The Haven for any family member.

Waleska D.

Best caring staff available! 100% recommended for detox, rehab and mental health care. As for aftercare, they keep supporting your wellness after leaving the facility. The alumni services a godsend, almost daily following up with great care and empathy.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Alumni Program

Who qualifies for the alumni program at The Haven Detox?

Anyone who completes the intake process at The Haven Detox is automatically part of the Alumni Program. It doesn’t matter if you came for detox, inpatient rehab, or outpatient treatment. If you started your care here, you’re always welcome to stay connected.

How long does the alumni program last?

The alumni program is available for life. There’s no expiration date and no deadline to stay involved. Whether you get involved right after discharge or years later, support is always here. Long-term access reduces the risk of relapse as your recovery and mental health needs evolve.

Do I have to join every meeting or event?

Not at all. Participation is completely flexible. Some alumni attend weekly virtual meetings, while others only join for in-person events or occasional check-ins. You choose what fits your schedule, needs, and comfort level.

What types of support are offered after treatment?

The Haven Detox alumni program includes weekly meetings, personal check-ins, fun sober events, and referrals to trusted resources in your area. Everything is designed to help you stay connected, reduce isolation, and feel supported long after rehab ends.

Is this an aftercare or relapse prevention program?

Yes. The alumni program serves as a free aftercare resource for anyone who completed treatment at The Haven Detox. It offers structure, peer support, and real-world tools that lower the risk of relapse.

Can I still be part of the program if I didn’t finish treatment?

Yes. If you completed the intake process, you’re welcome — no matter how long you stayed. Healing looks different for everyone, and this program is here for all stages of recovery.

Can I rejoin if I’ve relapsed or restarted treatment?

Absolutely. The alumni program is here for people who’ve experienced setbacks or relapses. Many alumni reconnect during difficult moments and find strength in the support they receive. There’s no judgment. We know exactly what it’s like.

Are alumni meetings in person or online?

Most weekly alumni meetings are held online, so you can join from anywhere. In-person gatherings — like seasonal events or weekend outings — are offered throughout the year on a local basis. These in-person moments create powerful opportunities for connection and community.

Can my family or loved ones attend alumni events?

Yes. Most alumni events are open to supportive family and friends. Rebuilding relationships can be a vital part of long-term recovery, and family participation is encouraged. You’ll be notified in advance if an event is adults-only or alumni-specific.

Is the alumni program only for addiction recovery?

No. The program is designed to support people recovering from substance use, mental health challenges, or both. Whether you received care for anxiety, depression, trauma, dual diagnosis, or other behavioral health conditions, alumni support is still available.

What if I move or leave the area?

Because virtual options are available, you can stay connected from anywhere in the U.S. You can also reach out for help finding recovery groups, therapy, or sober housing near your new location. The alumni team works with you to stay supported, no matter what.

How do I stay sober after rehab?

Staying sober after rehab means staying connected. Alumni programs, support groups, healthy routines, and meaningful relationships all play a role. The Haven Detox alumni program gives you a safe place to keep those connections strong.

{{insurance-name}} Insurance Covers Treatment Here (Up to 100%)

Checking your insurance is private and without commitment.

There’s no catch. Checking your insurance is simply a way to see what your plan covers — it doesn’t lock you into treatment, notify anyone, or cost you anything. You get answers upfront to decide what makes sense for you.

Protecting your privacy matters! No information or notifications are ever sent to your employer or family — whether you check your insurance online or call. Everything is handled through secure, encrypted systems that meet strict medical privacy laws. You stay in control of your information!

Luckily, most insurance policies cover treatment here. Depending on the healthcare you’ve already had this year, costs could even be zero. Instead of worrying, let’s just find out what your plan covers.

Most likely. We work with major providers like Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare, public insurances like Tricare and tribal plans, and even smaller plans like Surest Bind and Harvard Pilgrim. The quickest way to know for sure is to check online or call. It’s a quick, private way to understand what is covered upfront.

Verifying your insurance isn’t a commitment to start treatment — it’s simply a way to see what your options are. Knowing your coverage ahead of time helps you make more informed, confident decisions. It also helps flag a spot, so you’re able to get right in if you ever do decide you’re ready.

You need your policy number to check your specific policy online. If you want general information, just call.  You likely have questions beyond insurance anyway. Reaching out now helps you figure out the right fit if or when you’re ready. You don’t have to put off the call until you’re in crisis. Calling is not scary, I promise!
